RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Richmond Public Schools is joining a growing legal fight against major social media companies, with school board leaders voting to sign on to a lawsuit during a recent meeting.
The lawsuit alleges that popular platforms are intentionally designed to be addictive, keeping young users engaged in ways that contribute to mental and physical harm. School officials argue the effects are being felt inside classrooms and across the broader school community.
