Growing encampment outside condemned St. Louis property raises concerns

ST. LOUIS – A growing encampment in south St. Louis is raising new concerns after dozens of families were forced out of a condemned apartment complex.

Tents are now lined up along a stretch of Illinois Avenue, two weeks after St. Louis police raided the Concord Apartments in the Marine Villa neighborhood.

Meanwhile, St. Louis city officials say they have learned some of the people staying in tents on the property were not previously tenants at the apartment complex…
