Clearing tents outside condemned apartments

Former residents of a recently condemned apartment complex in South St. Louis were scrambling to relocate Friday morning. The Concord Apartments were called a “breeding ground for crime” by city police after a raid led to 13 arrests and more than 60 summons two weeks ago

After the raid, some residents pitched tents in front of the complex and began living there.Thursday, the city announced it would begin cleaning the apartments.Former tenant Angel Shorter tells KMOX city officials boarded up the units and began picking up the tents and other belongings.She says residents can’t get inside the units now, meaning they’ll have to leave anything still inside behind…
