Coastal flood statement for 6 Massachusetts counties until early Sunday morning

On Saturday at 2:13 p.m. the National Weather Service released a coastal flood statement valid from 11 p.m. until Sunday 4 a.m. for Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Plymouth, Barnstable and Nantucket counties.

The weather service informs, “Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (2.6 to 12.8 feet Mean Lower Low Water).”

“Some water on low-lying roads and property,” adds the weather service. “Do not drive through flooded roadways.”
