CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fire authorities are warning residents about the dangers of grilling outside during this time of year after a grill sparked a shed fire on Saturday afternoon in Chesterfield.
Crews with the Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to a report of a fire in the backyard of a home on Saturday. When they arrived, firefighters determined that a grill “too close to combustibles” caused the fire.
Photos of the aftermath showed the shed partially burned with charred wood logs surrounding it.
Officials warned that as the weather continues to get warmer, a small spark can cause a fire that can quickly spread in extremely dry conditions…
