Cops Swarm Geneva Ave After 911 Call Of Person Shot In Dorchester

Boston police descended on a Dorchester block late Monday morning after a 911 caller reported a person had been shot, authorities said. Officers converged near 500 Geneva Ave shortly before 10:40 a.m., and investigators remained on scene for at least 20 minutes as they checked out the report.

According to The Boston Globe, a police spokesperson said the call came in shortly before 10:40 a.m. and that as of about 11 a.m., police had no information on any possible victim tied to the incident.

Scene And Ongoing Probe

The 500 block of Geneva Avenue sits near Fields Corner, a busy commercial stretch where officers have repeatedly responded to gun violence in recent years. In May 2025, the Dorchester Reporter reported that police recovered 14 shell casings spanning the 400th to 500th blocks after a ShotSpotter activation, and that a separate early-morning shooting left a man shot on a nearby street.

The Boston Police Department also documented a fatal shooting on the corridor in December 2023, underscoring the recurring violence that has plagued this stretch of Geneva Ave.
