ST. LOUIS – Each month on FOX 2, we salute local first responders, military, or veterans with our Proud to Serve award.  This month, we shine the spotlight on Andrew Godi who serves his community of Desoto, MO as an SRO in the Desoto School District.

Avion was nominated by his Aunt who tells us

I would like to nominate my nephew, Avion Stevenson, to be honored with the $500 gift card. Avion is a proud and active member of the United States National Guard, where he serves with dedication and integrity. In addition to serving his country, he works for the United States Postal Service, where he has quickly advanced in his role because leadership recognizes his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to excellence.Beyond his professional accomplishments, Avion is an exceptional father raising two beautiful young daughters who absolutely adore him. He leads by example, showing them daily what responsibility, strength, and love look like.He is also deeply devoted to his family. He protects and supports his mother and twin sister, and every Sunday he makes sure his grandmother gets to church safely by giving her a ride. His character reflects honor, faith, service, and consistency.Avion is the kind of man who quietly carries responsibility without complaint and shows up for everyone around him. For his service to his country, his commitment to his career, and his unwavering devotion to his family, I believe he truly deserves to be recognized and honored.
