A few weeks ago, an iconic piece of Amarillo history went up for foreclosure auction. For generations of locals, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, felt like the end of an era.
The Music Box: An Amarillo Institution Since 1969
This colorful, eclectic building brought an immense vibe to generations of locals from all over the Texas Panhandle. This shop became an institution. Toni Sympson owned the property beginning in the early 1990s and gave us the Music Box we all know and love. Then, in 2023, according to PRAD, the property was sold to Austin McDonald.
Now the contents of this popular business are up for sale. The Music Box Estate Sale is happening today through Sunday, April 25. The sale will be open from 11 am – 8 pm.
