Lick Creek appeal review requested by WADC

The Water Authority of Dickson County (WADC) has asked Dickson County Chancery Court to review a state judge’s denial of its appeal that ultimately sought authorization to release sewage effluent into Lick Creek.

Filed on April 17, the review request awaits responses from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), which turned down the application, and Friends of Lick Creek, the citizens group that raised loud opposition to the utility’s plan, which it viewed as damaging to the East Hickman waterway, which flows into Duck River.

A hearing likely will follow in the Dickson County court, as WADC seeks reversal of the state judge’s decision, adopted without action by the state Water Quality, Oil and Gas Board on February 19.
