A change in the liquor code that will allow for Sunday liquor sales to begin at 8am instead of the current 9am has been given final approval. The change comes as a local golf course has asked for the adjustment to better reflect start times in other municipalities.
The only opposition came from 6th Ward Alderman Stephanie Elliott, who said at an earlier meeting that once the time is adjusted once, she believes it will continue to creep earlier in the day.
“Once you say eight, then it will be seven then it’ll be six then will be five, it always works that way, it’s bad enough that it’s at uh eight o’clock…I’m sorry that’s just how I feel.”…
