CCPS reopens track for community use after $220,000 resurfacing project

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Public Schools has completed a track resurfacing project, to revive the deteriorating old track located on Elm Street behind the current Gateway Academy. It is now open for public use.

“This project reflects CCPS’ ongoing commitment to supporting student success while strengthening connections with the community,” said a news release from the school system.

This $220,000 investment was made to provide their student-athletes with a safe, high-quality practice facility while also offering the community a designated space for walking and physical activity, according to CCPS. Money for the project was taken from the Christian County Board of Education’s general fund…
