Report says city employees surged overtime in recent years; Moreno administration pulling back

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A new Louisiana Legislative Auditor report shows the City of New Orleans grew its overtime costs 80 percent in three years.

But now, the city reports those costs are being rolled back.

The LLA released its report on the city’s finances on April 23. It showed the city spent more than $28 million in overtime in 2022, and that number jumped to more than $50 million in 2025…
