VIDEO: Drones help BCSO deputies track suspect in the Bosque

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office on Monday released drone video showing deputies chasing a suspect into the Bosque.

On March 19, deputies responded to a domestic violence call involving Matthew Tapia, who BCSO described as a suspect with a dangerous history and known access to firearms.

An hour-long stand-off ensued between Tapia and BCSO, alongside a SWAT team, and the U.S. Marshals Service. Tapia attempted to make a run for it into the Bosque, but BCSO deployed drones equipped with thermal cameras to track him in the dark while teams on the ground moved with night-vision equipment…
