ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Gaslight Lounge is undergoing renovations and will reopen as Club Seven 21, a “dance and night club,” according to someone who works there.
Renovations are underway, and an employee said the entire inside is being redone for a fresh look. The bar is expected to open next week, according to the employee. Signage for the Gaslight Lounge has been removed from the building.
Past incidents
The Gaslight Lounge has been the site of fatal shootings in July of both 2024 and 2025, which led to increased police presence downtown.
In December 2025, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson temporarily banned its service members from going to the Gaslight. A permanent ban will be brought forward to the Armed Forces Disciplinary Meeting.
