GM invests another $40M in Toledo propulsion plant

TOLEDO, Ohio — General Motors is making another significant investment in its Toledo manufacturing footprint, announcing $40 million more for its Toledo Propulsion Systems facility as part of a broader nationwide spending plan.

The new funding will expand production capacity for the plant’s 10-speed transmissions, a key component used in the company’s light-duty trucks and some of its most in-demand vehicles.

The Toledo facility, which employs about 1,650 workers, plays a critical role in supporting GM’s next generation of full-size trucks and SUVs. The company states the added investment will also increase flexibility at the plant and reinforce its importance within GM’s U.S. manufacturing network…
