NEW ORLEANS — A bill that would eliminate Orleans Parish’s newly elected clerk of criminal court is now headed to Gov. Jeff Landry’s desk.
State senators passed the measure, which would consolidate the roles of civil and criminal clerks into a single position. Under the bill, the civil clerk of court would assume responsibility for both courts.
