Former SCSO detective vies for sheriff

SANDOVAL COUNTY — Eric Miller, a veteran law enforcement officer with more than 29 years of experience, announced his candidacy for Sandoval County Sheriff last week.

“I’m running for sheriff because I believe the people of Sandoval County deserve a department that is present, responsive and truly connected to the community,” said Miller. “Public safety starts with trust, and rebuilding that trust will be my top priority.”

His service history includes work at the University of New Mexico Police Department, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Albuquerque Public Schools Police, Edgewood Police Department, and the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office, where he concluded his career as a detective.
