Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) — The Kern County Animal Services is asking residents to help clear the shelter through their “Just 1 Dog” initiative.
The event will take place on May 9th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their location at 3951 Fruitvale Avenue.
According to KCAS, there is an estimated population of 927,00 people, and if 1% of that population committed to fostering or adopting a dog, the shelter would be empty…
