MCPD Reports Robbery, School Threat, and Multiple Auto Thefts in April 30 Crime Summary

Montgomery County police released their daily crime summary for April 30, 2026, outlining several incidents reported across multiple districts.

A strong-arm robbery was reported in the 1st District, which covers areas including Rockville and parts of Bethesda. The incident occurred at 3:21pm near 50 Maryland Avenue by the Montgomery County Circuit Court, where a victim reported being robbed of personal items. The suspect fled the area on foot.

In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring and surrounding communities, multiple incidents were reported. A catalytic converter theft occurred in the 300 block of Penwood Road sometime between April 27 at 2pm and April 30 at 11:30am. Later that day at 4:46pm, officers conducted a traffic stop near New Hampshire Avenue and Lockwood Drive, where a passenger was found in possession of a loaded handgun and taken into custody.
