GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Irving Park Elementary School teacher Zane Doty is in her “element,” so to speak. The science-loving teacher is always bringing new ways to learn to her STEAM classroom.
“I love a lot of things about teaching. Mostly, I love letting kids figure out, like, how curiosity can actually, like, drive their path and change their path and change the world as a whole. I like helping them figure out that it doesn’t take a lot for you to be able to apply new skills to things that are already happening, and like in STEAM, we do a lot of problem solving,” said Doty. “We do a lot of critical thinking, and they’re gaining the ability to be able to work through any and every problem step by step and just take it back. Even if you don’t know how to do something, you could think it through. You can figure it out.”
