ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man, facing multiple charges after putting a motorcyclist in the hospital, was sentenced on Monday. Police reports said that in May 2025, then 28-year-old Anthony Nez was driving a Chevy truck at a high speed, with no license plate, when he struck a man on a motorcycle off Lomas Blvd. and Central Ave. Nez fled the scene with heavy damage to the front and right side of his truck, along with a shredded tire.
Mother of murder suspects charged in connection to Albuquerque fatal shooting
The Albuquerque Police Department said that they later found Nez and his maroon truck at a northeast apartment complex. Police mention that Nez was slurring his words, telling them he was hurt; however, officers suspected he was under the influence. Nez finally admitted to drinking and was arrested. The criminal complaint also says that Nez’s two children were in the car at the time of the crash.
On Monday, Judge Courtney Weaks sentenced Nez to 18 months in prison. He has until Friday to turn himself in…
