WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A heavy police presence on Wake Forest University’s campus Tuesday morning was the result of a false emergency call, according to campus police.
University police, working alongside the Winston-Salem Police Department, responded to what was initially reported as a serious incident on the Reynolda campus. After investigating, authorities determined the call was a swatting attempt — meaning the reported emergency was fake.
