Man sentenced in killing of woman and her dog: ‘Horror and disbelief’

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A man in an orange jail jumpsuit rocked back and forth in a chair as family members of Nicole Doerschler spoke in court.

On Tuesday, May 5, Adam Gerard Lyons of Climax was sentenced to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder and other charges for the shooting death of 40-year-old Doerschler and her dog.
