TOLEDO, Ohio — Lucas County voters approved a new 0.9 mill levy to support Toledo Zoo operations for the next 10 years.
With all precincts reporting, 31,582 voters, or roughly 57% approved the measure compared to 23,595—or nearly 43%— who voted against it.
The new levy is expected to generate about $100 million for the zoo over the next decade to fund zoo operations, services and facility improvements.
