ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A small plane crashed on a remote airstrip near Knik Glacier Tuesday, seriously injuring the pilot, according to the Alaska State Troopers.
The AST received word of the crash at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday. Off-duty medical personnel who were already in the area reported the plane was on fire and provided aid. LifeMed was notified and launched shortly after the crash.
The pilot was taken to a local hospital with what the AST characterized as “serious” injuries. No other injuries were reported. Witness statements were collected and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing…
