A 16-year-old North Carolina boy and his dog were fatally shot in the quiet early-morning hours Saturday — and authorities say the shooter remains on the loose.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responding to a home on New Walkertown Road in Walkertown around 5:55 a.m. found a 16-year-old boy and his pet dog suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement shared by the sheriff’s office.

Stokes County Schools identified the teen as Jayden Livingston, saying in a Facebook statement that he had enrolled at West Stokes High School in February…
