CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Charges were filed Wednesday in Cumberland County after a child suffered severe frostbite during Pennsylvania’s winter storm, court documents said.
Felony charges were filed against the father, Joshua Kitner, 29, of Newville, after he allegedly was sleeping while the child was outside of the home along Steelstown Road in North Newton Township on Jan. 25, according to the affidavit filed by State Police at Carlisle.
The two-year-old girl’s feet were purple, and she was taken to UPMC Harrisburg by EMS. A doctor there diagnosed her with frostbite and she then was transported to Lehigh Valley Medical Center’s burn unit where she remained for a week, the affidavit said.
