NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) —When you drive through New Orleans East, you may notice 18-wheelers parked on the curbs.
“For many of the residents, this has been an ongoing issue. We could probably see that we were years into trying to resolve this issue that we’ve had,” said New Orleans East resident Aeisha Kelly.
Current law restricts trucks from parking in residential areas, curbs or public streets. Yet, in less than an hour, WGNO spotted at least six in different parts of the east, one of which is blocking residents from the sidewalks. Kelly says the frequent presence of large trucks has become a hazard…
