Mayor Wilson Speaks With Clackamas County Commissioners Months After Funds Rejection

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson returned to Clackamas County, asking for regional cooperation when it comes to homelessness. Wilson spoke before the Commission on Tuesday, just under a month removed from getting rejected for $4 million from the county for homelessness.

Commissioner Ben West was hesitant to give money that Portland City Council would have a say in, as he said they have broken public trust, but he is very much open to working with the Mayor.

“We’re going to figure something out, Mayor,” West said. “The last ask, we couldn’t get there, but we’re going to figure some common sense, pragmatic approach.”…
