Residents in Battle Creek will see temporary changes to how they can pay for utility bills and other city services as the city completes a major upgrade to its financial software.
Several payment options will be unavailable from 3 p.m. May 15 through May 26, according to a community announcement. The upgrade is expected to improve payment security and better integrate the city’s financial and billing systems.
Limited payment options for utilities, other services
During this period, the following utility billing payment methods will be unavailable:
- In-person credit card, cash or check
- Online payments
- Pay by phone
Utility payments will be accepted by check or money order only using:
- The interior Treasurer’s Office drop box
- The exterior City Hall payment drop box
Payments can also be made in person at local Comerica Bank branches if the bill is not past due and a copy of the utility bill is provided. All mailed and drop-box payments will be processed on or after May 26.
