Kansas Marine Corps veteran protected Pearl Harbor in the 70s and 80s

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One Kansas veteran served more than five years in the Marine Corps and prided himself on his job, protecting Pearl Harbor.

Texas native Clarence Wilson joined the Marines in 1978 and made his father proud by doing what his dad could not.

“My dad gave me a lot of encouragement because he tried on several different occasions to get in, but with the medical issues that he had, he wasn’t able to get into the service,” he said.
