Woman arrested for neglect allegedly left children home alone for ‘several months’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WKRC) — An Indiana woman could face up to 18 years in prison after she reportedly left her children home alone for several months in hazardous living conditions.

According to reporting from WPTA, 42-year-old Ashley Rogers of Fort Wayne was arrested and charged with three counts of neglect of a dependent after police were called to her home for a minor threatening to harm themselves. Rogers arrived at the home after police and told them that the child they were responding for wasn’t her concern because they are an older teen, according to court records.

Rogers reportedly agreed to follow police into the home to help search for the teen. They were eventually found under a sink that Rogers had been standing in front of while police searched the home…
