Marrero man claims $1 million Powerball prize

MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — A Marrero man is one of four winners to claim a Powerball prize from the unprecedented April 29 drawing.

On Friday, May 1, the man claimed his $1 million prize from the Louisiana Lottery headquarters, where he took home $730,000 after state and federal taxes.

According to the recipient, the ticket was purchased from G-Zone located at 4963 Lapalco Blvd. Ghassan Jabbar, G-Zone’s owner, said that selling the ticket was “his dream come true.”

For selling the winning ticket, G-Zone is set to receive a $10,000 bonus, or 1% of the prize amount…
