BIG LAKE, Alaska (KTUU) – Human remains were found in a burned trailer after it caught fire in Big Lake on Wednesday, according to the Alaska State Troopers.
Around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, the AST were notified of the trailer fire on Burma Road. A preliminary investigation determined the fire started accidentally and originated near the center of a trailer next to a large propane tank that fueled personal heater.
Area firefighters did not respond, as the location was outside of a designated fire service area. Troopers responded and found the fire was confined to the trailer and there was little risk of spreading.
