5/7/26: Cooler With Rain Chances

Here is your latest StormTracker forecast from meteorologist Alyssa Caroprese.

After a dry day we’ll bring back shower chances as we wrap up the week and head through the upcoming Mother’s Day weekend. Tonight will actually bring a few showers through as well, with best chances being around Albany south. Expect skies to gradually cloud up, a few showers to pass through overnight and then dry conditions to take back over by morning.

Lows will be chilly and will range from the middle 30s to around 40. Now that we’re getting further into May the growing season has begun and this has led to a frost advisory for those over portions of Warren, Saratoga & Washington counties overnight. Anybody with sensitive vegetation or plants up in this area (or any locations outside of the Capital Region) may want to take precaution with the potential for frost into tomorrow morning.

We’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds tomorrow with a disturbance in the afternoon triggering some spotty showers. Otherwise, the day will be cool and breezy with temperatures running similar to today in the middle to upper 50s.

Mother’s Day weekend does not look the best, but the whole weekend will not be a washout. A disturbance on Saturday will lead to a period of steady rain through a good portion of the day, although the exact timing is still unclear. At some point in the morning rain should overspread the area and then push to our east by evening. This will keep our temperatures quite chilly with highs appearing to be in the middle 50s…
