RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond mother of two was shot and killed by a police officer Thursday evening.
At about 6:47 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the Belt Atlantic Apartments in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike for report of a shooting in progress.
According to Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards, officers arrived at the scene within four minutes and overheard gunshots. Witnesses directed the officers to the third floor of an open-air stairwell. As they headed upstairs, they heard more gunshots…
