Honor board delays decision on removing street sign as it examines man’s potential ties to murder investigation

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The Board of Honor put on hold an ordinance that would remove a Toledo street sign as it investigates potential ties to a decades old murder case.

The board faced something it has never had to do — consider removing someone’s name from a street sign, this one near Fifth Third Field.

The sign in question is “Monsignor Jerome Schmit Way.”…
