Funk group behind hit song ‘Low Rider’ to perform at Albuquerque Freedom 4th event

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The iconic funk and soul group behind the songs “Low Rider” and “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” will take the stage to perform at the City of Albuquerque’s annual Freedom 4th event.

WAR of Long Beach rose to fame in the 70s and their landmark 1973 album “The World Is a Ghetto” topped the charts, and the group has more than 20 gold, platinum, and multiplatinum releases. Now led by co-founding member Lonnie Jordan, the band continues to tour and will headline the city’s July 4 celebration.
