CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — Deputies with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating an alleged attempted robbery that happened in the early hours of Friday, May 8.
According to Sheriff James Pohlmann, 31-year-old Arthur Woods was arrested for attempted armed robbery, simple criminal damage to property, attempted unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and possession of marijuana.
After 5 a.m., deputies responded to a call in the 700 block of West Josephine Street regarding an attempted armed robbery.
Deputies said they spoke with a woman at the scene who went outside her home to check on her dog when a man reportedly approached her and demanded money. While she was in a brief struggle, the woman activated her vehicle’s alarm which caused the suspect to flee the area…
