Driver arrested for DUI after high-speed chase on I-5 with five dogs, say authorities

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A driver was arrested Friday night after leading law enforcement on a pursuit on Interstate 5 in Pierce County while traveling with five dogs in the vehicle, according to authorities.

Officials said the incident began when a Thurston County detective attempted to stop a vehicle for traveling 90 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-5. Another officer joined to assist as the driver fled, prompting a pursuit.
