A dispute over a charge to tour William Penn High School before its demolition led to the cancellation of two final tours set to take place on May 18.
The Harrisburg School District said late Friday that while it was willing to permit the Historic Harrisburg Association to offer final tours of the historic building, it rescinded the offer after learning the association was planning to charge a fee for tickets.
“While the Harrisburg School District has been amenable to collaborating with HHA to permit a tour date with proper liability waiver forms signed by each tour participant, the District was not aware of the Association’s intention to charge a $30 fee,” school district spokeswoman Kirsten Keys wrote in an email. “As a result, the tour has been cancelled.”…
