50,000 people drop from Alabama’s SNAP rolls: ‘Children and seniors are the ones who are suffering’

Nearly 50,0000 Alabamians are no longer enrolled in SNAP as changes to the federal food assistance program begin to take effect.

The decline is compared to January 2025, according to a recent report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
