Community mourns tattoo artist Ben Eiseman, remembered for art and genuine spirit

TOLEDO, Ohio — The local tattoo community is mourning the loss of Toledo tattoo artist Ben Eiseman, whose family, friends and coworkers say left a lasting impact through both his artwork and his personality.

Eiseman, 41, died from an autoimmune blood disorder, according to loved ones. For nearly a decade, he worked at Steel Addictions Piercing & Tattoo in west Toledo, where fellow artists and clients say he became known for his traditional-style artwork, humor and ability to connect with people.
