Bill Murray welcomed into the ‘family’ at final Siena Heights commencement

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Siena Heights University isn’t just going out with a bang. It’s going out with a Ghostbuster.

The small Lenawee County college held its final commencement over the weekend and actor Bill Murray served as its commencement speaker.

After 105 years, Siena Heights University decides to close

Murray received an honorary doctorate from the soon-to-be-shuttered university and so did his sister, Nancy, a member of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, the founding sponsor of the school.

Murray came to fame as an early cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” before moving on to hit movies like “Ghostbusters,” “Groundhog Day,” “Stripes” and “Lost in Translation.”…
