Sandy Springs marks 10th annual Lantern Parade

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Hundreds of residents filled the streets of Sandy Springs on Saturday night for the 10th annual Lantern Parade, carrying handmade lanterns along a glowing one-mile route that ended at the Chattahoochee River.

The free event, one of the city’s most anticipated community traditions, drew families, artists and neighborhood groups to the Sandy Springs Municipal Complex on May 9 before the procession made its way downhill along Morgan Falls Road to Morgan Falls Overlook Park.

This year’s format included a Pre-Parade Party at the municipal complex, which is designed to accommodate growing attendance and give participants more gathering space before sunset…
