North Charleston police investigate several allegedly poisoned cats

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) and the community are looking for answers after several cats were allegedly poisoned and killed outside the owner’s house, leaving the family who has cared for them for years, distraught.

The family says they feed and care for a colony of stray cats. But after finding the remains of several in front of their house within the past month, they are now worried about targeted attacks against their pets.

On May 6, NCPD responded to a property on Commander Dr. to find a sick cat suspected to be poisoned. After taking the cat to a vet specialist, it was decided that the cat must be put down as a result of irreversible kidney damage…
