NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Tri-County area saw a significant spike in overdoses over the weekend, with the coroner’s office investigating potential fatal overdoses.
The increase has prompted local law enforcement, medical professionals, and nonprofit organizations to ramp up outreach efforts and distribute overdose-reversal medication to those at risk.
The Charleston Coroner’s Office reported five suspected fatal overdoses in Charleston County since Thursday, May 7th.
