East Lansing man charged for assaulting deputy at Ingham County Jail

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A 21-year-old East Lansing man has been charged with assaulting a prison employee following an incident at the Ingham County Jail in February.

Lewis Easley is accused of assaulting a correctional officer during an incident that occurred Feb. 17 at the jail, according to the Ingham County Prosecutors’ Office.

Authorities said the incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. during a routine cell check, when the inmate became combative and attacked a deputy. Additional staff members intervened and restrained him.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries…
