MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — City leaders are moving forward with an ordinance to regulate pedal-powered passenger vehicles, like Pedal Pubs.
The proposal was initially brought up in October 2024, but the council had several concerns about noise, alcohol and traffic. In 2026, Pedal Pub addressed those previous concerns and progress into the ordinance has since advanced.
The pedaling carts are designed to carry a group and create a tour and bar crawl-like experience for visitors. The bike tours previously operated in Myrtle Beach in late 2025 under a special events permit for the holiday season, which has since expired…
