MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — Mount Vernon has unveiled something new.
Mount Vernon officials announced the grand opening of a new all-inclusive park on Tuesday“It’s really nice. You know some people have a small play set in their backyard, but to bring them here where there’s so many more things for them to do and run and get out their energy it’s just a great asset for the community,” said Kim Rinker, Mount Vernon Resident.
The park is one of several projects the city has planned for its 2026 improvement efforts. The concept of this project was first introduced by former City Administrator Max Springer, who retired in 2021.
